This beginners oil painting workshop is designed for those who are new to oil painting!!!
In this 3 hour workshop, I will teach you about oil painting materials, where to get them and how to use them. How to prepare your boards, clean your brushes and how to paint a painting from beginning to end.
Depending on your level of skill, we will hopefully complete two paintings which will be a nice introduction to the following techniques used by the old masters, including: –
grisaille, ebauche, glazing, and Impasto
We will also take an introductory look at:
value, colour, colour mixing, various colour palettes and composition
Now, this beginners oil painting workshop is a hands-on course where you guys will be doing the work. I’ll be there to show you step by step how to paint each painting in a relaxed environment where you can ask me any questions which I will answer or demonstrate for you.
I will also send out a set of notes the week before the workshop starts and another set of notes on the materials and a step-by-step instruction on the paintings we carry out on the day, just incase we don’t get them completed. It’s a very relaxed session and I don’t want you to feel under any pressure to complete the paintings on the day.
