• The Trade Deal – after Manet – oil painting by Emily McCormack.
  • This painting after Manet, was reimagined to reflect the 1631 Barbary Pirate attack on the Irish village of Baltimore, West Cork. Instead of ‘waiting’ fisherman wives, it’s a trade deal, the ‘sale’ of fisherman wives. The crosses of the sails symbolise future burdens each of them will have to carry.
  • Seascape oil painting based on Baltimore, West Cork, Ireland.
  • Oil on board.
  • 69 x 79cm including frame.
  • The frame is an ivory-white wood with an inner gold slip (* not shown)
  • Price includes frame, please contact for price excluding the frame.

* Please note: The frame shown on these images is one of our old frames. The frame supplied with this painting would now be one of our lovely new ivory-white wood frames. For reference you can see the new frame on this painting.

During the workshops here in the art school, we study paintings from other master artists. I create these exclusive artworks to show a student an artist’s style, usually on a one-to-one basis. The unique study I create is available to buy here.
