In the Diminishing Light, Time stops where an Irish soul once lingered, now fondly remembered
Artist’s Note:
In the still folds of the day, a hush settles across the room. The kettle simmers, the radio hums, and the air listens without speaking.
This piece holds a moment untouched – a tribute to soft rituals and inherited silence. Memory lives not in grand gestures, but in a well-worn chair, the chair nobody sat in without permission. It belonged to someone wise, someone still.
Each era gave it a single guardian. And as times changed, the chair remained, watching generations pass, watching stories drift in with the breeze. This painting honours those quiet presences, the sitters who shaped the home with attention and love.
Here, the ordinary is reverent, and old Ireland breathes between cups of tea and quiet thinking.
I hope you will stop a while in the quiet hours of this room— and see who, or if anything, might stir!
